“Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(Ephesians 5:20)
Finding
a reason to be thankful in every situation, regardless of the adversity you are
faced with, brings you closer to God. It
opens your heart to His presence and your thoughts to His thoughts. Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that
we could have eternal life. Through His
sacrifice, we were sent the Holy Spirit, and through the Holy Spirit we have
direct contact with God. If you let that
resonate with you, why would we not thank God every single day throughout the
day for everything He has given us, and will continue to give? All we need to do is give Him thanks, trust
in Him, and believe that good things are coming our way! When we are in His presence, it’s like He is
allowing us to see things from His perspective.
It is His shining light that opens our eyes and warms our hearts even in
the midst of adversity.
While Thanksgiving Day is a day to give Thanks, let’s not
stop at this one day. Continue to give
God and your loved ones your time, your love, your thanks, and your respect for
what each of them have done for you!
