but the righteous give generously." (Psalm 37:21)
Besides
exercise being good for the health of your heart, it is also good for the soul
of your heart. When we give to others in
need, the Bible says we are giving directly to God Himself. We are honoring God and blessing others, and
in return we are also blessing ourselves.
I’m sure you’ve heard of others paying at Starbucks for someone’s
coffee, or they went through a drive-thru and the car ahead paid for their
lunch, and you probably thought, “I wish someone would do that for me.”
We need
to understand that change comes from within.
So the next time you have an opportunity to give generously or go out of
your way to truly help someone out, stretch your limits a bit and you’ll be
surprised what you get in return! Giving
generously doesn’t always mean monetarily though. It could be a simple compliment that would be
the highlight of someone’s day, or simply waiting that extra thirty seconds to
hold the door open for the next person. Go out of your way today and God will
multiply seeds of goodness in your life in return! It's a win/win for everyone!
“The
Lord delights in the way of the man who steps he has made firm; though he
stumble,
he
will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:23)
