“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and
sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the
testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete,
not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives
generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when
you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a
wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to
receive anything from the Lord.” (James 1:2-7)
Have you asked yourself, “How does one grow closer to God?” The simple truth is by trusting, obeying, and believing. Trusting that He knows what is best for us and that He wants the best for us; obeying His word, taking that next step even when you can’t see the next step; and believing with your heart and soul that you have received His blessing, even if it has not arrived yet – for you know it is on its way!
During
the toughest trials of our lives that we will be faced it; those unanswered
prayers; and those moments when we wonder why, we need to be strong and
courageous. Not afraid or discouraged.
Remember that enduring the trials make us only stronger and provides us with
endurance that will stand the test of time. Believe that even those unanswered
prayers were God’s Will, because He is the only one that knows the final
outcome for all involved. He does not
want any one of us to suffer, and that may mean a temporary ending for one
person, and a period of mourning for another.
Though in the end, we will be reunited with God and our loved ones! Therefore, we should always pray, “God Grant
me the Serenity to accept the things
I cannot change: Courage to change
the things I can: and the Wisdom to
know the difference.”
