Sometimes It Doesn't Get Better; It Just Gets Different

“I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said to you: You are My servant; I have chosen you and not rejected you.” (Isaiah 41:9)

There are many times throughout our life when we are thrown a curve ball or worse yet, a sledge hammer to our heart and we cannot understand why.  It is not up to us to understand God’s timing, or the reason behind every bad circumstance we may be faced with.  We do; however, need to trust and believe that He does know and He wants the best for all of us.  Not the best for just you, but the best for everyone!

Sometimes, we have to go through these difficult times to become a better person, a more understanding, loving, compassionate, patient, but most of a stronger person.  We have a lesson to learn along the way.  God may even be using us to go through a terrible situation because He already knows that we have been chosen to help others go through similar situations.  It is important to understand that when you are struggling through a terrible loss of a loved one, or a life-altering experience for us or a loved one, that things will never be the same again.  Sometimes you’ll never get back to the way it was before no matter how hard you try, but you must grow to accept that and know that it will simply become a different kind of better!

Trust in the Lord always, because He is always there for you and He will never forsake you!  God never said we would not have trials to deal with in this life.  And I do not believe He is responsible for these worldly errors we must face, but He is there to help us face them and to become stronger for having gone through these terrible times!  So, if you doubt the Lord due to these worldly errors, I urge you to turn back around.  Turn back to God and ask Him to help you!  He will help you accept a different kind of better so you can move forward and find peace again.

Jeremiah, say this to the people of Judah: “This is what the Lord says:  “You know if a man falls down, he gets up again. And if a man goes the wrong way, he turns around and comes back.” (Jeremiah 8:4)

God Will Give You Rest

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

I have learned this one first hand several times lately.  I would stress myself out beyond my control.  Then without fail, when I could not keep up any longer, God made a way to force me to give in and rest.  These forced breaks of rest were also out of my control, and I have learned that only God is the one in control. He knows everything that you are going to face, and He already has a plan for when you fail, when you take the wrong turn, when you are weak, when you are troubled, when you are in need, and when you come to Him.  He wants us to reach out to Him and He is waiting for that every day.  The more we recognize Him, talk to Him, believe in Him, trust in Him, and are one with Him, He will bless us in more ways than we know.  He will bring the right people into our lives, and the right opportunities for us to achieve our dreams.  He will also bring us into other people’s lives so that we can impact their lives.  He uses all of us for the good of all beings.

Trust in yourself though the Holy Spirit, trust in God’s timing, and lean on God for His goodness, His Strength, and His never-ending Love for us!  He will give us rest, and He will give us strength to endure even the toughest days of our lives.  We will soar on wings like eagles, for God is the wind beneath our wings!

Take A Moment To Thank God

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,

by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,

present your requests to God. And the peace of God,

which transcends all understanding,

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 4:4-7)

It seems that whenever we need something or times are hard for us, we turn to God and ask for His help.  How many times though, have you taken a minute just to ‘Thank Him’ for what He has given you and what He is about to send your way?  I know when I was young, it was always taught to me to pray to God to bless my family and to keep us safe, and to bless those that were ailing, etc.  I don’t remember thanking Him for the prayers He did answer, or for the blessings He did send my way.  I didn’t learn this until much later in my spiritual journey; and now, I thank Him more than anything.  It seems too, that the more I thank and praise God, the more I get in return.

God has become my friend, my confident, my provider, my savior, my supporter, my counselor, my guidance, my everything!  There is not a day that goes by that I don’t talk to Him several times a day, and listen to what He has to say to me.  There isn’t a day that goes by where He is not leading me.  I have faith in His words, though they may be unspoken, they are heard within my soul.  Through the Holy Spirit I am led every day.  When I take His lead and act without hesitancy, I am rewarded.  I know without a doubt that when the time is right, my dream will come to be and it will be better than anything I could ever imagine.

I urge you, to ‘Thank God’ for everything He has done for you and for everything He will do for you.  Believe that it is on its way.  Have faith and trust in His timing, and it will be done!  He wants nothing but the best for us, and when we reach out to Him, His hand is there for us to grab onto for support!

When You Become Unglued

“The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.” (Proverbs 14:1)

I was reading the book “Unglued” with a Bible study group, and it is a great resource to help you make wise choices in the midst of raw emotions.  It is so easy to let frustrations build up inside of us over time that we may bury deep within us or build walls of protection around us.  It refers to different groups of people: the exploders, and the stuffers.  The exploders are those that simply explode in frustration when things go wrong.  They might be the ones yelling at the cashier because the cashier rang something up wrong by charging them twice.  Or someone accidently hits their car in the parking lot, and they freak out because now they are late for an appointment, and have to deal with insurance and paperwork, etc.  Then there are the stuffers, these individuals hold in their emotions and they let them build and build, until their spouse or significant other looks at them the wrong and they explode bringing up everything they did wrong in the last month.

I’m sure we are all guilty of being an exploder and a stuffer at different times and this is normal.  Can you imagine though, how different life could be if we took a second before exploding, took a deep breath, said a quick prayer, and then calmly addressed the situation.  Instead of harboring our feelings or flying off the handle, we need to treat each other with respect all times.  If someone is getting on your last nerve, you need to calmly let them know how they are making you feel.  I’m sure they don’t want to hurt you or frustrate you, and if we address the situation head on, it doesn’t leave time for stuffing those frustrations because we dealt with them right away!  Next time someone pushes your buttons, take that deep breath before you blow off steam.  Don’t tear each other down; our job is to build each other up!

And if you are interested in the book, “Unglued”, check it out on Amazon.  It is a great read!

You Are Smart Enough

“For the Lord gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
(Proverbs 2:6)

Never doubt your abilities, because they are not your own. With God all things are possible.  God gives us wisdom. He gives us the words to say. He gives us strength, courage, knowledge, love, peace, endurance, and much more!

Everything we have, we have God to thank for it.  We have to have faith, trust, and believe in God that He will find a way to make our dreams a reality.  He will answer our prayers, but we need to ask. He wants us to come to Him.  Pray big, dream big, and believe that what we ask for is on the way. It may not be in our timing, but have faith.  It is likely to be even better than we ever imagined if we are patient. Things happen for a reason. While sometimes some prayers are unanswered; it is usually for the better good of those involved. Remember, not everything evolves solely around one person.  We all revolve around another.  Accept His Will is for the best because He wants the best for us.

When God placed the dream in my heart to write a book, I had no idea it would be a spiritual book, and once those words started to fill the pages and I was getting close to taking the next step, I thought to myself, “how am I going to do this.  I’ve never written a book. I have no idea where to start.”  I could have sat there stagnant and done nothing more, and my book never would have been finished, published, or read by anyone.  Instead, I held onto my dream, and I put it in God’s hands.  Every step I took was then directed by God.  I learned to recognize His direction, and I acted on it.  I asked, and He supplied the next answer, put me in contact with the right people, and my book was published.

Never doubt your abilities, because with God by your side, and the Holy Spirit directing you, everything is possible!

Inspire Others

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
(Ephesians 4:29)

By giving generously of our time, our talents, and ourselves; by treating others with respect – the way you would want to be treated; and by sharing with others our testimonies and relationship with God, we are becoming what God wants us to be.  Simply by being the best version of ourselves, we are inspiring others to do the same.

You know the saying, “When Mom’s happy, everyone is happy”?  That is the same with everyone really, because everyone feeds off of each other.  How many does your spouse come home from work in a rotten mood and doesn’t know why, and then all of sudden, your mood starts to change for the worse as well.  We feed negativity off of each out just as we do positivity.  Being positive is so much less stressful and brings everyone much more joy and peace.  Try to find the good in everything; there is good in everything if you look deep enough.

Whenever you have the opportunity to share your testimony with someone, don’t let that opportunity pass you by.  Sharing your story with others will not only inspire them, but it may just help them overcome something they may be dealing with as well.  It will remind them that if we can overcome obstacles, so can they!  God gives us the strength we need to live through our toughest moments.  He does not give us more than we can handle; He only makes us stronger so that we can endure every obstacle, every challenge, and every test that gets thrown our way.  When we live according to God’s Will, we will live an abundant life full favor and promises that are just waiting for us!

Ask, Believe, Receive

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” (James 1:2-7)

Have you asked yourself, “How does one grow closer to God?”  The simple truth is by trusting, obeying, and believing.  Trusting that He knows what is best for us and that He wants the best for us; obeying His word, taking that next step even when you can’t see the next step; and believing with your heart and soul that you have received His blessing, even if it has not arrived yet – for you know it is on its way!

During the toughest trials of our lives that we will be faced it; those unanswered prayers; and those moments when we wonder why, we need to be strong and courageous.  Not afraid or discouraged. Remember that enduring the trials make us only stronger and provides us with endurance that will stand the test of time. Believe that even those unanswered prayers were God’s Will, because He is the only one that knows the final outcome for all involved.  He does not want any one of us to suffer, and that may mean a temporary ending for one person, and a period of mourning for another.  Though in the end, we will be reunited with God and our loved ones!  Therefore, we should always pray, “God Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change: Courage to change the things I can: and the Wisdom to know the difference.”
